Just got a letter from Chrysler saying warranty on (ecm) has been extended to lifetime coverage. applies to2004-2005. 2500/3500 5. 9 engine trucks with California Emissions. Because of some failure at smog test

As far as the ECM thing, i'll wait for my letter to see what happens. Are they talking full replacement plus labor or just parts? Just a re-flash?

Dont know about the cost, the letter said that if it's running fine dont worry about the problem . As I have had my fill of the Dodge dealerships I guess it will been running great. Been to MT many times in the last few month's and have had great mileage, performance has been better than what I expected. I pull a trailer with way to much weight in it and the stock HP is still amazing to me. I have seen posts on this that said my 04. 5 373 48re is not the correct setup but cant see expecting anything more from the truck.

Was wondering how you got such a letter? My dealer is saying my 2004. 5 ECM is bad & wants $2050 for a new one. Naturally, I declined but am now worried that I may need one at some point.

there are some trucks that should show the monitors but do not and there was no recall on those years. Not to worry if you have had a smarty on with semi current upload your monitors will show and pass the smog test in Cali
