The engine cooling fan seems to be operating much more than it used to. The truck is a 2003, 3500, 4x4, 6 speed, DRW, 4. 10. The fan seems to operate excessively while the A. C. is on. This condition occurs while pulling our Alpenlite 5th wheel and while bob-tailing. Outside temperature has varied from cool to hot. Turn the A. C. off and the fan seems to operate normally. The truck has 41,000Miles on it. Any help will be appreciated.

Front could be blocked up w/ bugs, impeding air flow. But it is 100% normal for it to run w/ ac, and kick into a higher gear when you tow a trailer. Mine does it and the engine temp holds a steady 195.

Thanks for the reply. The front is clear. Nice to know operation is normal. Just thought it to be excessive.

Really like MT. Beautiful state.

i've been noticing with my 06 that the fan has been running alot more this season. i notice it all the time. soon as the air is on the fan gets very loud between shifts. seems excessive to me. very noisy. i'll check my radiator area. i dont remember it making a racket with the winter cover on with the defrost on last winter either.
