My truck is cutting out on WOT uphill pulls when the RPMs get into the 2600-2700 RPM range. This just started about a week ago and I can't figure it out. It feels about like I'm towing somebody who keeps tapping on their brakes. I think the engine is getting starved for fuel because my max EGTs now are about 950, and there is definitely less power. Prior to this, I never felt the cutting out, and EGTs could get to 1350 or 1400. The engine runs strong and normal at all loads and RPM ranges below 2600.
I changed my fuel filter just to make sure, but it didn't help. I've also duplicated the problem on a different tank of fuel, from a different gas station just to eliminate the possiblity of bad fuel. Anybody have any ideas before I turn the dealership loose on the problem? Thanks in advance,
JimD
