I was tinkering with boost today and vise gripped wastegate hose, went for a test flog around block put it to the wood and holy @#$% I was doing 50 in like a block 36lbs of boost and let out hit the brakes hard had pacbrake turned on also barely made the corner but as I was rounding the corner Engine quit. I coasted to a stop I tried to start it and nothing. Did the cycle of key to check codes and p1694 came across. Acted liked the fuel was shut off. Finally got it started after about 5 tries. I think that code signifies a bad connection between ecm and pcm. Its acting fine now but I have to go to work tomorrow and I'm kind of afraid to be left stranded!!Has this happened to you and if so whats the cure?I hope its not a vp44 issue... .

It's called lifting, if you really get into it, then let off fast the vp44 can't make the change fast enough and sometimes losing prime is the result. Try losening a few injector lines( 19 mm) and turn it over until diesel is visible, tighten them up an you should be on your way. The code you saw is a companion code it comes up if you had any other codes, if thats all that was there I wouldn'y worry.

Good Luck, Bret

Thanks that sounds about right and I took it for a spin today and It handled it fine but I think either I have poor fuel quality or need more volume cuz in the higher revs between 2500 and 3100 it kind of starts chugging or surging. And I do have a boost fooler.
