Archived engine dies

suddenly the engine just quit when i let up on the throtle. I can get it started but it takes a little more cranking then usual. Seems to run ok but then will surge and run rough and sputter, no codes fuel pressure ok, fass runs seems ok. only other weirdness is the fuel level guage which has become erratic.

check all elec. connections, esp. grounds.

up date: thinking may be the filters. Had just filled up and only drove a few miles. change the main filter crud in the bowl, but need a inline filter between the fass and the tank.

You stated fuel pressure was "good"?

Have you tried unplugging you VA box as well? If you havent, unplug it and see if the truck still does it. The VA boxes were famous for quiting and causing issues similar to what you are experiencing.



Have you ever had a lift pump failure? What you are describing can be the start of an injection pump failure. You can use the key and the odometer to read codes on the truck. Check to see if there are any codes at all there, even if the engine light isnt on.
