As I looked over a 2500 CTD on the dealer lot (trying to make the final decision) I noticed that it appears the engine electronics are mounted just under the fuel rail/filter side of the engine. There appears to be numerous electrical connectors in this area. If this is the ECM it seems to be mounted in a rather hostile area with exposure to heat and moisture. Is this a problem area or are the connectors and electronics sealed sufficiently to protect them. Is there any known problems with this setup. I assume Cummins sells Dodge a complete package that is a drop in power unit so maybe this is best since it is done correctly from Cummins without any third party tampering. Assuming this is the ECM.
