Engine Heater

I just intalled a wall plug in my garage to plug the 01 in during this cold weather and also put a timer in the system. Since I don't work regular hours, (I can be called out at the most inopportune times) I set the time to go on for an hour and then off for a hour around the clock. Has any one ever tried this? and will it cause any problems? any lastly will it be any cheaper to operate the engine heater, or will it take more power starting out cold every hour?



If any one has an idea, I'd like to hear it

There was a thread going here a day or two ago in which someone listed a bunch of different wattages available for block heaters. Might be good to get one on the low end and leave it plugged in...
