Is the engine heater covered under the 100,000 mile warranty? If not are they expensive to replace?

Not sure if you are talking about the block heater or the intake heaters. On the block heater the problem is most always just the cord, cheap fix. On the grid heater the main problem is usually the solenoid, not covered on the 100K.
