Just found this site yesterday and joined. I have a2001 quad cab 5 speed just turned 10000 miles and will have had for a year 8/18. The truck has a hesitation or a miss that developed about 3 months ago dealer has been giving me the run around they say they are a "truck center" and have several diesels on the lot and assured me before the purchase they repair these trucks. It seems to happen when the truck is warm 190degrees and happens when shifting gears intermitantly or when you really get on the throttle ie when pulling into traffic or passing if you let up and then back on the throttle it goes away. If you don't let off it will buck and dump white smoke out the exhaust. I also noticed it happens around 2500 rpm. Any help would be appriciated. After reading some other posts I see some ideas but am not sure like the lift pump? and reflashing. I found that in my area it is hard to find a qualified place to work on these engines. I saw where someone said you can get work done by Cummins with dealer authorization is this true? Also wanted to add Dealer is going to check fuel pressure per Chrysler engineering. There first atempt to fix problem. They scanned computer no hits drove with a so called machanic with computer hooked up the truck hesitated but no hit. I have been waiting a month for them to get a proper gauge to test pressure.
