has anyone ever had their engine hiccup at speeds around 70 mph? coming back from florida i would be crusing about 70 when i would lose power for about one second. it will do this say about once every half an hour. about half way home,(750 miles)it started sputtering when i got into the throttle. it only did that for a few minutes then stopped. it still hiccuped after that. had my fuel filter changed about 5000 miles ago. i've had trouble with my transmission but dont think thats the problem, sounds like the fuel is being shut off for a second. the problem started after i installed the banks powerpack. can anyone shed some light on this? thanks.

Ram,

If your truck falls under the following critiera (It probably doesn't, its for an '00 model) You may have the infamous 'Engine Stumble'

NOTE: THIS INFORMATION APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 5. 9L - 24V DIESEL ENGINE BUILT BEFORE ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER 56624822 WITH A DATE OF MANUFACTURE OF AUGUST 28,1999. THIS INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON THE ENGINE DATA PLATE, WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE, AFFIXED TO THE GEAR HOUSING.

My truck does the same thing. In the TSB it shows a small problem with the DC software for some 2000 dodge. The TSB has the Dealer upgrade the software to the computer. Have not had time to do it, also am not a fan for dealer machanics, don't get me wrong some are very good and some just don't care.
