Thanks, TDR Staff

Hadn't given it much thought before TDR issue 44; Antifreeze?

exhaust parts

Got alot more done tonight.

Check out pics of my puke tube set up.

I also like the view down Rips 5" exhaust pipe:D :--)

Think that motor will fit in my first gen looks like a sweet set up. Do you want to trade for a ve powered first gen motor??? Looks awsome what do you think it will put out on the dyno?

Dee, don't buy it from the dealer!! Call Peter at SBC, he has 'em, and for a lot less $$$$!

Really sweet looking job you've done. My only question. What's with the Carquest oil filter?? No fleetquard distributor's near? Bill

Vaugh too late already did...

Carquest is our local supplier close here the filter is a Wix. As soon as it's broke in I'll go back to AmsOil filters and oil with the bypass system.

Just got done welding the support bracket for the lower turbo.

Engine Stand

drawson,

Nice job dude. Just got done doing the same thing myself. Couldn't help but notice the engine stand. We were afraid to use ours in fear that the mighty Cummins would snap that stand like a pretzel. You got rocks dude!!!

Cliff if you notice in the one pic. As soon as I got the head on I had the enginre hoist chained to the bottom of the motor helping the engine stand out. My OTC engine stands are rated at 1000 lbs. But as soon as the head goes on they seem alittle stressed...

What kind of thermal barrier coating did you get, and where did you get it done? This is a very impressive buildup!! :) :)

Rod Bearings

Drawson,

I checked out the photos of your rod bearings and was amazed at the lack of visible ware. After 145k the thrust side of my rod bearings where worn down to the brass man:eek: What's up with that? I wonder what the difference is between our trucks that caused it. Oil maybe? Advanced timing?

Cliff, I ran at 16. 5 deg advanced for 4 years. I have also had AmsOil in her since 35K 15W/40 not the 5W/30. I am running Delco 400 to get her broke in and can't wait to get back to the good stuff!!!

Preston, Piers twins comes with stuff to make a bracket that went from the front of the bell housing to the lower turbo. I built my own that comes off the motor mount bracket. It's too far together to take pics. But if I get it apart again I take some pics.

Drawson,

Have you done any heavy pulling with your truck? That's the only major thing I can think of being different between our two trucks.
