While accelerating up to highway speed today my engine just shut off, like I had turned off the key. The lights work, a/c blower, radio and dash light work but it will not even attempt to start, no bump no nothing. I have not had this problem before. Had the truck towed to the shop I use, they will look at it Mon. Anyone have any ideas about what the problem might be.

I had the same issue happen to me two years ago! TIPM replacement did not take care of it and it ended up being the ECM. There was no communication between modules. It was very sudden how the engine shut off, and there was no shift indicator on dash.Everything else worked fine. I had just come back from a summer trip pulling fifthwheel trailer and had no issues on trip!

Didn't notice if the gearshift lights were on, it was a very sudden shutdown like you said, hopefully they can find out if it is the tipm or the ecm without having to change both of them. I had just gotten back off a 250 mile run and hadn't shut the engine off for about 5 hours when it happened

I have also had problems with the wiring harness. This summer on a long trip, the throttle shut down and then would reset! Replaced pedal assy after first shutdown! Had it replaced @ 2000 miles later assuming part was defective and then 1200 miles later a dealer overlaid a harness from the pedal assy to the ECM. I put another 4000 miles on with no issues. Also AC quit in early part of trip and ultimately they overlaid a harness from TIPM to AC compressor. It has been fine since.i spend a lot of money maintaining this truck but it seems to have a number of weak links!

Shop has traced it to something called a "scream modual", anyone ever hear of that? Anyway it's on national back order. Power goes to it but doesn't come out.

That is the security module. Did you notice a single red dot lit up on the cluster when attempting to start?
The screem module should keep it from starting (or start and stall) but I didn't think it would cause a stall.

It won't even attempt to start, it's dead, turn the key and it's dead, does nothing.

It seems like a lot of Mopar parts are on national back order! Check online at Eastcoast Moparts! They are very good at getting parts and their price is better than local dodge dealers! They are in Waldorf Maryland

I am supposed to have one on the way, tomorrow or Friday I hope.
