Well got this new bumper jack that lifts the truck from front or rear about 3. 5 feet. After letting it down from the front (playing) went to start it and she cranked 3-4 seconds then fired. Figured you had to introduce air to let fuel run back. Is it normal to lose fuel back to tank when front is lifted at an extreme angle.

Had to move it out of the garage to let in a chebby, but plan to try that later. I have never had that happen except during filter change.

That is wierd. Are you sure you do not have a leak somewhere, such as at the T fitting on the fuel return line back near the firewall?

Lifted the front of the truck again tonight,2 hours- lost the prime again. Maybe siphoned through return line to tank??? Not sure as to how this could happen no leaks to be found. Maybe you can't raise them 3 feet for long?

Fuel filter lid...

This is a longshot but who knows. Last time I changed my fuel filter, I had reinstalled the lid hand tight. I had to climb under the truck to get the socket I had dropped. I got sidetracked(stopped to yell at a teenager) and forgot to tighten the lid all the way. I noticed the next couple of days my truck would take a little longer to fire up. I remembered I hadn't tightened it up. After I cinching it down, it starts fine. The housing wasn't leaking fuel but it was sucking air into the system at the lid/o-ring.
