my truck sounds like it is skipping from 1600 rpms and up this is sitting in the driveway truck runs good other wise has 186000 miles i have no fuel in oil just did oil sample does not smoke.truck is 2005 it is all stock

At that mileage it is likely an injector issues. Do you run an additive package all the time? Have you done an injector cleaning? Have you worked the engine frequently?

ULSD is really bad for gumming up injectors, you need to run additives all the time and do an injector cleaning periodically.

Drain the fuel filter housing and fill it with Sea Foam, idle truck for 30 to 60 seconds to disburse the cleaner thru the fuel system, let sit over night. Dose a full tank with MMO and 2SO then drive it hard with a load.

Keep us informed. Most of the time these problems are straightened out by just working the engine like it was designed to be run. Knocking around town is about as detrimental as never kicking up a good horse and letting him stretch out and kick up his heals once in a while.

Mopar has a fuel injector cleaner under a Mopar PN, but it is CRC brand "diesel fuel therapy" and is usually found at most large Napa stores. The TSB that call it out says follow the label instructions for dilution, but the dealer uses the scan tool to overide the FCA a couple of times to increase the fuel pressure allowing more product to flow through the injectors at idle.

Well I guess I am going to replace injectors nothing else has worked I know they are bad or going bad i have a cat filter under cab put on last year but it was to late already had 165,000 miles so it is time now I don't know what to get new or Bosch remans I can get Bosch remans for 241 a piece any ideas I would love bbi that's a lot of money

Bill, I bought new Bosch stock injectors and feed tubes from Exergy Performance in August '14. I also installed a GDP MK2 Kit with a Donaldson P-551313 filter and replaced the primary filter with a Baldwin PF7977 at that time. Good luck - Ed

The BMS 50 HP injectors with the 143 degree spray pattern are usually about the same price as a Bosch reman over the counter at $350. They are usually pretty solid, give a nice little boost in TQ, and sometime mpg. The 126 degree 60 HP BMS are another $50, almost what a NEW OE injector is. Hard to buy OE or remans when you can get a better injector for close to the same $$.

The 50 HP BMS injectors work pretty well stock. By rights you should tune it a bit to adjust for the spray pattern but it is not absolutely necessary. Stock you get a little bump in low and mid-range power but really nothing on the big end. The 60 HP ones would match the stock timing curve a bit better but even they are 7 hole SAC nozzle so it does change things a bit. Either can be run stock with good results, better with a good tune.

That is a decent price for them about normal, a little over $400/per. The 143's I think are cleaner running injector and offer better efficiency with some good tuning. BBI guys say there are no issues running the 7 hole SAC 143's in the deep spray bowl. I have them in mine for over 50k with zero issues and they did work better than OE. They got tuned a bit and went into my son's 05. You can usually get the BMS 50's a little cheaper then 60's and add new cross over tubes right at or less than the 60's.

Your choice really, but there have been some complaints the 60 HP nozzles have more haze than normal in a stock truck. Just something else to consider.
