Engine monitors

Looking for recommendations on an all in one engine monitor that will display EGT. I don't need it to be able to program or tune. I have a 2006 5.9 and a Smarty JR and want to start tuning UDCs so I figure I need to be able to monitor firtnand foremost. The less expensive the better but all options are on the table. Does the 06 have a factory EGT that will display on one of these things? Or is it a post turbo deal? I don't mind buying an EGT probe as long as the monitor will read it.

If it has data log capability, even better.

I don't think EGTs are monitored until the 6.7 and that emission standard.
You'll need to plumb one in.

Definitely no factory EGT in an 06.

The edge CTS with the EGT EAS looks good but dayum is it expensive...the old quadzilla vizion looks awesome but obviously no longer available....

No matter how you go about it you will pay the price. No such thing as cheap capability. UDC is pretty limited in its abilities, if you want all the fuinctionality then you need UDC Pro RT.

Smarty, EFI, HPT, they all cost about the same for the same capability.

If you just want tunes somebody else wrote and a switch that is about $600 for EFI or HPT. A license and monitor will run $600-700.

A Smarty Touch which is a monitor and all the canned tunes they usually have is around $800.

To do real time tuning with all the tables available, $300 for the license and $200 for the com module with the Smarty.

Regardless, you want to fo effective real time tuning with switchable tunes that will be in the $1300 range for any of them.
