Every time i stop my engine theres a high pitched squelling noise like the fan belt is sliping. The dealer says this is normal with this type of fan on the trucks. I have two friends that have 2000 and 2001 trucks and thay never had this noise. Any ideas on what it is or how to fix it would be helpful.

It's normal and won't hurt anything. That being said, if it annoys you to the point that you want to fix it yourself I believe that there have been good results posted about using the Goodyear Gator-Back brand belt.

good luck,

Your Cummins motor has a very high compression rating. As a result when the engine is shut off the motor stops moving in a very short amount of time. However all the accessories are still moving ( i. e. Alt, A/C, P/S etc. ). This results in a small belt chirp. When my first belt was getting old the chirp discontinued, but with a new belt it came right back.
