engine noise

I took delivery yesterday of my new 2004. 5 3500 . What an awesome ride . This is my first ctd so i dont know all the ins and outs of the beast. During acceleration around 1500rpm i am getting a sound like a light fuel knock kinda like a fluttering. The best i can relate it to would be like on a ford ps when the timing is advanced when it is still cold. It sounds like fuel under high pressure and then subsides after i am out of the throttle. I can here this noise completely different than the smooth engine sound when accelorating. Has anyone else heard this sound? Is it normal?What is it? thanks,

Congrats on the new ride.

The sound you are talking about I think it is normal.

Check up in the 3rd gen engine and transmission section I think there is a thread about this.

I don't know to much about it as I still got a 2nd gen.

But I do believe it is there.

That is the same sound mine made when I took delivery of it. Either my brain has learned to tune it out, or it is not making that sound any more. In any case, it seems to be normal for the 600's. Enjoy the new ride.

Truck profile is on your profile page, its one of the little bubbles that you click on at the bottom of a post.

Truck signature is at the end of the very first post you make on a page. Like you have seen here on mine or klengers.

That is your signature.
