I recently purchased a 1997 engine CPL 2175, that is the 215 HP unit. It had the death by KDP, and approx 200,000 miles on it. My reason for purchasing it was originally to get the necessary parts to convert my 89 VE pump engine to the P7100 pump. However, after checking this unit over I am considering overhauling it and then installing it in my 89. I already purchased a NEW head from PDR. My question is are there any recommendations for a Cummins dealer to purchase the parts from? That is a dealer that will sell in some form of an overhaul kit of genuine Cummins parts. Preferrably in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois or Ontario, Canada. Any ideas? Thanks, John.

How far did you want to go with the overhaul?

New pistons and rods? I would recommend just talking to cummins and getting a discount since your buying volume. Get new bearings, rings, gasket set, etc. You might want to go with marine pistons too for extra power. Maybe a slightly bigger cam? talk to PDR

yeah I beleive cummins bridgeway is there. buy it from cummins though. I work for Cummins metropower in the east coast and jsut to get you an ideaour 6b kits (pistons rings, gaskets, bearings) are 1133. 92$

Scoring on the cylinder bore... Wow, is there reasons for this happening? lack of oil or not being taken care of in commercial applications?

I seeit constantly at work, I see a lot of cylinder glazing also from dirt in the intake. it somes from different things. could improper lube either being too low or not have been chcnged and losing its lubricating properties.
