Is it possible to overspeed the CTD with just throttle alone on flat ground or does the govenor prevent this? I had OD off and forgot and did WOT. Engine ended up at 3200 or so, not in the redline about one notch below, but still concerns me. Should I be worried about this or am I being overly concerned? I have about 2500 miles on it now...

I have never been able to overspeed mine or my Moms when it was in gear. I did overspeed mine last year when 5th gear let go:eek: I was climbing a really steep grade with my foot to floor and it let go, the tach went to about 3700 RPM's:--) So the governor will prevent it, nothing to worry about:cool:

I don't think the engine can overspeed by throttle alone. It's something to watch out for when coasting or exhaust braking downhill. Hopefully someone out there will correct me if I'm wrong.
