i have asked that question several times too. i have no proof to back this up but have had several hp guru's tell me the same thing.

on a 4 wheel drive truck with an auto trans(stock) your rwhp will be around 35% lower than your flywheel hp.

a 2 wheel drive will be a little less than 35% loss due to the power not having to transfer thru the transfer case and turning the front drive shaft.

on a 4wd truck with an aftermarket trans,t/c,vb etc your hp loss between the engine and rear wheels is reduced to around 25 %.

i am sure there will be some difference in opinions and i welcome

any comments or suggestions on why those numbers sound reasonable or are way out of the ballpark.

diesel freak,,is that 1/4 mile time with the swampers on ??
