Engine random rev up while at cruising speed.

Any idea what would cause my engine to randomly Rev up 200 rmps while I'm driving. I'll be driving along and if I slightly push the pedal for maybe a small incline to keep my speed it will start revving up 200 rmps. It will keep doing it over and over until I let off the pedal some. And I've resecently started having a problem where it won't want to shift into 6th gear ether.

That sounds like the torque converter is unlocking, that's assuming it's a 68RFE. If it's a G56 your clutch is likely slipping.
