Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Engine rattle disappears at 2200 rpm. Is this normal?

Is this normal?

My truck has been doing this for a while now. I can rev it up, but once it clears 2200 rpm, the engine sound changes drastically. It's like someone flipped a switch and turned off the clatter! It goes from normal 24V sound to just a hum and stays that way from 2200 up to 3000+.

Also, the engine virbration seems to all but disappear as well!

On one hand, this could be a great sign of an engine in good shape-- no piston rock, good breakin, etc.

But it seems abnormal to me.

I'll try to post a short video with sound so you can get a better idea.

I'm straight piped and at that same sweet spot (+2200 rpm) my tone also quites down to just a hum, anything below that is just annoying. I never really noticed it with the stock muffler and resonator on so it may just be amplified with the straight through exhaust. Drone maybe?
