Just joined tdr.com last night. Been reading the forums ever since I had a 94 dodge cummins 350 dually. Had a f-250 Powerchoke for about 3 years and finally now I have the truck I want. Ended up with a 1999 2500 24value 5 speed cummins. I bought an edge ez that was in the truck before it was traded at the dealer from previous owner. Quick question, when I give the truck what seem a normal amount of "gas" pedal, the engine revs too fast, before the engine can keep up. the tach goes from 1200 to 2100 and back to about 1700 then it seems it is at the right rpm's. it only does this in 4th gear, and every other gear is fine. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem. Anybody had this happen to their truck. Truck can with an exhaust brake, pyrometer, and it straight piped. It pulls my CAT skid steer 262 and Blizzard 810ss plow great. thanks, mark

If it is your engine that is revving up fast when you shift, it could be your clutch slipping. 3rd to 4th is a big drop in rpms and puts a lot of stress on the clutch, especially with quite a bit of torque. When my clutch was toasted, it would slip like that all the time.

thats what i was thinking also... Mine is doing the same thing now. . time for a SBC

I bought the truck with only 33,000 miles, only put 2 thousand on it since i got it. that would be a big bummer if that is the case. what will happen if I just keep on driving it like that. thanks, for the help. mark

That is a bummer if that is true. Just double check that is the problem. Its hard to tell over the computer and not drving it. Whats the worse that can happen? Well, when the clutch slips it heats up the flywheel pretty good. It also could be that the clutch is just glazed. Try going a day with using the clutch every chance you have. But this could give you the chance to get a really nice new clutch. :D

CALL PETER for the best clutch you'll love it. Just think after you get it on you'll really put the power to the groung.
