I have run into on more than one occasion that a first generation dodge with alot of miles on it runs very rough when you step on the accelerator in park or neutral. Sometimes it will even smoke a little white like unburned fuel. It seems like a fuel system problem. But I am not sure how to check it without going through the expense of pulling the pump and injection nozzles and taking them to a fuel shop to be "checked" you know, rebuilt? Have any of you had this problem? I have even seen it with a second generation truck. I thought it was isolated to the bosch ve pump but it seems that even the p7100 experiences the same problem provided that the pump is the problem. If any of you have eperienced this problem and have found the remedy I sure would like to know what it is. Thanks!

The first and easiest thing to do is run a healthy dose of fuel conditoner thru it... . double up on the dosage and it should make a difference after about 1/2 a tank.

If that isn't any help then you may well have to pull the injectors and have them cleaned and reset. Many times that solves the idle troubles, power loss, etc problems guys have.

Keep in mind that the injectors are, over time, a wear item. They DO actually wear more and more ove time.

See if that helps...

Mine does that some but only when cold. If it's doing that on a warm engine I would think your timing is retarded. But I really don't know. Thats just my guess.
