Where would I find the serial number on my 93 ? Has anyone signed up with Cummins for their online " Quick Serve" ? Is it worth the $50 ?

The Number is on the side that you'll locate the injection pump just above the vac pump on the timing hear housing.

I use the truck dealership and the regional (Cummins) brach house as opposed to paying the $50. 00 per year.

Thanks, Greenleaf. I was looking into the "Quick Serv" as the nearest Cummins dealers are at a minimum 1. 5 hours away in Virginia and with traffic being what it is here near the beach and working, it is a tough trip to take.

J,

My Cummins dealership is 70 miles away. I tell them what I need and I cut out the middle man. There is a local truck dealer who will order parts (from the same Cummins location) and then tack on 60% to the cost. With the serial number, you give to Cummins they will look up the parts and ship it to yah!!

The engine ID plate is where the other guy said it was. It is held down with 2 drive screws (rivets) Many of them vibrate , crack and fall off ... the cummins dealer can provide you with another one with the correct info on it. you will need to give the dealer the serial # from your truck to figure it out for you. .

I have had to buy a few myself that were gone when I got the trucks... .

Use some 3M weather strip cement in addition to the rivets to keep it from happening again in the future
