I assume you are talking about the sensor located on the crank. If everything on the truck is working it is working. I know this because I got my 97 into an electric fence which shot the crank sensor and voltage regulator. My tach quit immediately which told me I had a problem. I hooked up a computer and found out that if the crank sensor is shot the computer does not know the truck is running. It will run but the altenator will not charge the battery, when the battery is dead, no more driving. One little note I found out the hard way, with no juice from the battery, the pump will not open to allow roll starting or pull starting. If you are driving when the battery goes dead it will shut off with no warning.Originally posted by fire803:
