If you need one I have one left over from a 96. Don't know if it's any good but I assume so. Let me know.

How about a little more info? Like why don't you think it's not working?
Try cheking out the connection about a foot above it. It's tucked under the wiring harness top/front of engine. This connection seems to have problems needs to be cleaned out or tabs need to be straightened out.
Off the top of my head Engine Speed Sensor sends/contributes to tach, asd relay(charging system),TPS,vehicle speed control(cruise I believe), torque converter electrical engagement. OK so I cheated and looked up a few.

I assume you are talking about the sensor located on the crank. If everything on the truck is working it is working. I know this because I got my 97 into an electric fence which shot the crank sensor and voltage regulator. My tach quit immediately which told me I had a problem. I hooked up a computer and found out that if the crank sensor is shot the computer does not know the truck is running. It will run but the altenator will not charge the battery, when the battery is dead, no more driving. One little note I found out the hard way, with no juice from the battery, the pump will not open to allow roll starting or pull starting. If you are driving when the battery goes dead it will shut off with no warning.

Jeff,
Push starting these big boy isn,t recommended, but in case of emergency why not.
If battery is dead push lever up manually on fuel shut down solenoid, use piece of wire or what ever is handy, tie the lever so it won't drop down. This method can be used if fuel shut down relay or solenoid quit working and for shorted wire or lost ground to either relay/solenoid.
