My 97,2500, automatic trans, engine tends to stall if from an idle the throttle is advanced then released quickly like if you are at a stop light and start to take off then have to suddenly back off the throttle, especially after a long day of pulling my 5th wheel and backing into campsite or if ambient temp is very high above 100 degrees. It has always done it, but now it is getting worse. The truck has around 148,000 miles on it but has been doing it some since I got it with around 90,000 miles.

A third vote for bumping up the idle, I had the same problem and that cured it. The idle stop actually wears and slowly decreases your idle speed. It needs to be adjusted every 20 years or so. :)

I set mine to 800 and have been happy. The book specifies different idle speed depending whether you have an auto or manual. It is to be set in gear, with your A/C on hi. It can be a pain since the idle screw wants to turn when the lock nut is tightened down.

I'm still getting air in my system somewhere. All of the rubber lines have been replaced, however the 1/2" feed lines are getting on about 4 years old now. One of these days I'll pick up a whole set of copper and re-seal the injectors. It would be nice to know where it's coming from though.
