Until last week I thought I was the luckiest Ram owner of all. I have about 135,000 on the original stock lift pump. However, that all changed when the mightly Ram died on my wife in the driveway. Tested LP pressure, and as I suspected only 4-5 lbs. pump pressure. And sometimes no pressure at all. Off to the Cummins dealer. Replaced LP. Now I am running 14-15 lbs. at idle. Problem fixed right? Well now I have an annoying little stumble. It seems to happen in city traffic on hot afternoons. Just a quick little hiccup. The engine did die one time, but started right back up. Since replacing the LP, I have run to the lake with the boat a couple of times. With WOT, and loaded, doesn't miss a lick.

Little Help?

Thanks!

I have been going through a similar situation, but haven't been able to isolate it yet. I also replaced a bad lift pump, but still have a point when it stumbles or acts like it's flooded, but clears up when I step on the gas or let off the gas. Do you have any diagnostic codes coming up? Everyone that I've talked to says that IF it's a VP44 problem, it will smoke horribly and will have a huge noticeable loss of power. I don't have that and it sounds like you don't either. I'm still looking into mine, but may break down and take it to Cummins next week. I'll let you know what if anything I find.

Thanks for any input GForce. I just returned from another weekend at the lake. When this truck is loaded and pulling, there is no indication of any trouble. The Mighty One pulls like a mule! The only time I have had any trouble is in city driving, when it is 100 degree's plus outside. And then only seldom. I am due for service this weekend. Also due for an air filter. ????????
