I'm new to the registry, but not to the cummins. I have a 2001 5.9l that is all stock at the moment with 253k miles. The problem I am having is that every now and then when I am leaving from a stop sign turning right, the engine stutters for a full second or little more. Once I straighten out the truck runs great. Also sometimes when I shift into third and bring it slowly to about 2100 rpm it stutters again. I think its a air bubble in the fuel line between the vp44 and the injectors. don't know how it happened since the vp44 was changed 3 years ago with no issue since. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I had a vehicle that my wife drove and said it stalled when she made right hand turns. As it started it doing it more often and lighter right hand turns I got involved. It took me a lot of head scratching but it turned out to be a chafed wire that was shorting out on the fuel rail. Seems the right hand turn couple with just enough engine torque it would hit that chafe on the fuel rail just right and would kill the engine. It would always start right back up. Once I found the wire I could make it do it in the driveway Don't remember what the actual wire was for but once I replaced it it never did it i again.
I wouldn't think an air bubble would come and go there is a lot of fuel moving through those lines. However perhaps there is a small leak somewhere in the fuel system allowing air in but again it should take a fair amount of air to make the truck stumble and unless it is like my wire example above you would expect it to be much more consistent or prevalent not just right hand turns or sometimes. Do you have good fuel pressure during these times? Any codes show up?

I dont have a fuel pressure guage on it at the moment, that's on the long list of upgrades coming in due time. And it hasn't thrown any codes at the moment which is what's really confusing me. But ill chase wires tomorrow when there is daylight. Thank you
