The ultimate pick-up truck?

5.6 liter V-8 Cummins in 2009

Looking at Medium duty trucks 8500 GMC they offer Duramax and Cat. Truck priced out at 55+ was also looking at Kenworth. Need about 300 HP or close to it. Thanks!

I am not a huge fan of the C7/3126E becuase of the HEUI system, but I don't know a lot about the 7. 8(?) Isuzu (Duramax).

What about an International? The DT466E, and DT530E are both very good engines.

I'd stay away from the KW... we've got 4 of them, and our Kenworth service has been horrible. I'd take a good look at the Pete 330, and get whatever Cummins you can.

Cummins 8. 3 in a Pete. The 8. 3 has been a super engine in all applications. AG, automotive and industrial. The mid stop cylinder liners have eliminated liner erosion-cavatation. Bottom end is bullet proof. Fuel system is a tried and proven unlike the Cat heui. IMHO
