Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Engine surge or hesitation??

While under moderate load mid throttle my 2002 has a surge or hesitation. It makes the truck seem to buck a slight bit. Is this a common problem with the 02's My 01 does not have the same symptoms. Any sugestions would be appreciated.
