Last weekend I finally got my injectors installed, I honestly did not notice a huge difference in performance, but there is definitely more smoke when I want it. I have had the TST installed for about a month and was more than happy with the power that alone gave me. I never did take the box up to 9, the highest I took it without the injectors was 7, but that was only for a short time. I also installed the TAG at the same time with the injectors.

I've been driving the truck on level 6 for awhile, and finally turned it up to 9. At level 9 the truck surges pretty bad. If I'm accelerating the truck is fine, but if I'm steady on the throttle it is OK for a few seconds then it will surge. I don't know how to explain the surge, the truck just kind of cuts out for a half second or so. The truck surges pretty badly, and pretty often on level 9, it will do it on level 8 but not as bad. Even at idle the truck will surge on level 8 and 9.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I can't pull the pressure below 14 PSI, and I have high flow fittings up to the VP-44. Is the pump not able to pump enough fuel to the injectors?

Thanks

hey John, ran into the same rapid surge after I installed Jammer stage 2 injectors, I have worked through the truck as far as the FASS , Edge EZ, ATS 3 piece, Banks brake, 4" straight pipe, AFE air intake, and with this set up was getting around 27 to maybe 29 psi boost, then I installed the injectors earlier this summer, before I got out of the neiborhood I was getting well over 30 psi boost , but at around 32 psi I was getting this rapid surge sensation, I at first thought it may be the clutch doing a slip/grab thing, a buddy of mine said no way, he felt that if the clutch broke free it would burn right off, he may be right, then I bolted the waste gate shut with a piece of 5/16 allthread and eliminated that ( thought being the waste gate was opening and shutting in a rapid motion), then I sent an oil sample to Blackstone labs and it came back negative, no diesel in the oil ( thought being that an injector maybe malfunctioning), then I found in the shop manuel that the MAP sensor will derate fuel to the VP44 if the boost psi becomes too high, (and I have a feeling it's around 32psi) in what the manuel calls an "engine protection" mode, and I have also found that there is no such thing as an aftermarket MAP sensor, so I too am still in search of solving the rapid surge, at this point I think it's an electronic cut out, but with out fooling the MAp sensor I don't know a way around it yet, how are you guys that I've read about in TDR getting these impressive psi (40 to even 60psi I've read) readings? thanks, Ray from Alaska

I dont think he has the same problem as you Ray the TST box has a MAP sensor harness that does what i described in your thread.

Drew, did you check the MAP sensor connections and the ground. make sure its grounded good. also did you get the pump j hook thingy or just the regular connector for your pump wire. if you got the regular one solder it. also solder you power if you can. use dielectric grease and grease all connections.

a call to TST will tell you to replace the MAP sensor next.

I will check out all of the connections and redo them with dielectric grease. I used the J hook connector.

Thanks for the info.
