My 1998.5 24V has a new issue. A couple months ago with the engine cool "65 degrees" I started the truck and backed out of my garage, and drove about 1/4 of a mile down the street. I pulled over to do something and decided to go back home. When I started to turn around the engine surged enough to cause me to hit the brakes. Then it returned to idle and has run fine ever since except for this morning. It pretty much did the same thing except I only made to the street and had just shifted from reverse to drive. No check engine light either time. The truck has 365k. I'm pretty sure the throttle position sensor is original and the vp44 has around 175k. After the first event I went on a 2200 mile trailer towing trip with no problems. Anybody experienced anything similar.
Thanks, David
