I just returned from a 900 mile trip, pulling a trailer, and toward the last 50 miles I got a couple surges in RPM's! It was like I was letting off the throttle and getting back on it. This truck is an auto. This morning I left and it's doing it continuously now and I have the check engine light on. I got the same codes on both the PCU and ECU of 0122 and 1693! Please tell me it's the APPS and not the injection pump going! I've replaced both in the past already and don't want to spend 1200+ on another injection pump! Thanks for any help!

The fuel pressure stay's the same, but power cut's out with the rpm's and comes back! It's like letting on and off the throttle!

It would be strange if you killed the VP with a fuel pressure gauge, and an aftermarket pump. How much pressure do you have?

Also, when the VP dies, it usually will not set an error code.

Error code 0122 is throttle position sensor voltage low (Chrysler PT Cruiser computer codes) I think problem is solved?

I've seen 122 as TPS also on some search's! Thanks for the feed back! I think I lucked out this time. Thanks again!

Just an update! I removed the APPS to look at the TPS and didn"t notice any loose or bad wires. I unplugged it just to look at its condition and plugged it back in. I started the truck and saw the engine light go off and have had no issues since. Maybe the plug wasn't seated all the way or something. I'm glad I didn't spend the money on a new one..... yet. We'll see if this last's. Just thought I'd mention this for other's that might be having this issue. It might be a loose connection. We'll see. :)

My experience is the APPS will function normally for a while and then the code and surging will return. You will need to replace it eventually.
