2002 24v cummins
35 inch 12wide rims and tires and spacers to adapt rims to 8x6.5
3.55 gears
Fass 150
Hot rod vp44
Edge hammer bb turbo 58mm
225hp injectors
Quadzilla pulse v2
4inch exhaust
Built trans with stock stall Dpc triple disc firepunk valve body firepunk comp rebuild kit and gm govenor pressure solenoid with power driven billet input shaft
Truck runs great to a certain extent previously I had a stock trans with no overdrive a Dpc triple disc low stall converter the tc would slip in lockup in 3rd so I pulled the trans and rebuilt it with a firepunk comp kit and had them build the vb for my hp goal I shipped the converter off to Dpc had it inspected and restalled to stock. After some transmission ptsd I reassured the line pressure and it was on point with what they said it should be and lockup with overdrive off in 3rd locks up strong with no slip and can cruise just fine. Now comes the ordeal when in overdrive the trans will cruise fine until I hit 50mph and the torque converter locks up it will begin shake if I modulate the throttle and almost power through it I can make the shaking substantially disappear but the egt will progressively climb to 1000 if I set cruise control egt will slowly drop into the 800. To my conclusion I’ve made a list of possible ideas of what it could be.
Tire size and gear ratio causing the engine to bog and or surge when trying to pass 60 or cruise between 50-60
To Much fuel not enough air which would explain the low boost when trying to cruise and high egt.
bad tuning
was going to swap injectors back to stock but the hot rod vp44 will not support stock injectors
