At moderate speed city or 50 to 60 mph as you decelerate to keep speed constant on slight down grade, and as you add slight throttle at start of slight upgrade, there is a stumble/shudder/hesitation. Not consistant, 2008 quad SRW just had latest flash and emision flash, no change on above condition, any advice? 30kmiles.

I have had that same thing happen a couple of times. Seems like transmission and engine is not on the same page. But by the time I notice it, it goes away. It's has always happened, going down a hill, when I let off on the pedal. And pulling a trailer... . 317k on it today and still going strong... .

It is a common problem. All three of mine have done it on rare occasions when descending a gentle grade using cruise control. Over the years many other TDR members have mentioned the same experience.

It is not a malfunction or failure, won't get worse, and can't be cured. I'm not an engineer or programmer but believe it is simply the point where the cruise control is alternating between fueling and no fueling and is not precise enough to avoid causing surging.
