Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Engine wants to stall

Hey Guys,

My truck runs fine when I`m on the freeway towing . But when I get off at a exit and stop for the light it starts missing . I have to put it neutral ( auto ) and that seems to help. The other thing it does is if the truck is parked and you start it put it drive hit the peddle alittle bit it stalls. Both problems are intermittent and it idles

at 750 rpms.

I think your idle is just a tad too slow. Mine doesn't quit like yours, but sometimes when it's cold it acts like it might when backing up in the driveway at idle. But I kinda like is slower at idle.



Speeding up your idle will probably make it start better too. Mine wants to spin some if I try to start it at idle, but will hit on the first turn with the throttle depressed slightly.

Should be about 800rpm I believe with it in gear and AC on
