I had always heard 9xxlbs. I recently had an engine shipped to me and the bill of lading said 750lbs. This engine had no flywheel, clutch or A/C compressor but was otherwise complete.

I understood the crank is around a 150 lbs. It was said in one of there advertisements or (literature). And high 9's for the hole thing.

Thanks for the input. I had thought it was in the high 900s. I read somewhere that it was close to 1500 but that didn't sound right.

well depends actually, whether or not u take out the extra cylinders that they messed up and put in the ford lol. 2 to many... . actually i can't say much about the 7. 3 international was and is still a great engine, its predecessors is something to be desired esp. after going to the 6. ? series

Can't vouch for accuracy, but this info comes from the following site that seems to have accurate info.

Cummins CR late model 5. 9 & 6. 7 engine specs/fluid capacities - TheDieselGarage.com

All of the info that I have read states that the 5. 9 cummins got heavier as the generations were added on... that is why there is the descrepincy of the weights of the 12v. the early was in the 975 range and in later years the weight increased.
