Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Engine weight?

Any one know what the shipping weight of the 12v engine w/ turbo and accessories. I'm thinking of buying a P pump engine for my 1st gen pickup, needs a little tune up. I searched the archives but found nothing.

wtrenholm, I have read somewhere the engine alone runs around 970 itself. The rest depends on the shipping crate or metal pallet. I was in a used truck parts dealer recently and saw a new 24V sitting on a metal stand for sale. That stand has to be strong to hold the engine, so it will weigh 70-90 lbs. easy. My best guess, a complete engine in a metal stand inside a plywood crate will go 1100lbs. HTH

My '94 engine complete was listed at 1100 lbs strapped to a pallet.

You can get a Harley shipped about anywhere for around 450 bucks. Pretty close to the same weight.

My engine was shipped from Wisconsin to Ft Worth TX for $200 by ConWay. Try to find a company that has a deal with a freight company. They can ship for a little over 1/2 what joe Blow can.



People over at pirate4. 4.com are saying that Forward Air has great prices.
