Engine whistle when cold outside - FOUND

Has anyone had an instance where they get a loud engine whistle when it's cold outside? I'm talking below +30 DEGF. The whistle occurs in warmer temps just accelerating from 10 to 30 DEGF outside temp. It's continuous at temps around -15 to +15 outside temps at highway speeds. It's scheduled to go to the dealer Monday, just thought I'd see if any one else had the same problem. Also, it changes pitch with throttle position.

I posted some other non-engine stuff in the non-engine/transmission section.

I have encountered the same problem. I find my truck makes this noise when it is less than +50 F. It only makes this noise when it is between 18 & 25 mph. MINE is not RPM specific just speed specific. If i hold the truck in that speed range it is horrible. The dealer said it was the TURBO. But i froze my A#$ off twice while someone else drove and i swear it is the rear diff. or the driveshaft support bearing. Is yours speed or RPM specific just curious?:D

It changes volumn with engine load. The higher the load, the louder the noise. Hardly noticable at slow speeds or after the outside temp warms up. It could be the turbo.

Dealer found a hole in one of my rubber/plastic turbo boots and the whistle stopped. Also found a hole/leak in the intercooler. New one's on order, $800. It's NICE and QUIET now!
