Archived Engine won't start

The key turn. Everything lights up but it won't hit a a lick. Nothing on the keyless entry works ( lock unlock panic) and the odometer reads "door" all the time. Had my wife bring the other key and no change. Meter says it's in park. Battery has plenty of juice. Not sure were to go from here.

Try disconnecting the ground/negative leads on both batteries for a few minutes then reattach the leads and try again.

My wife and I were at the Gaylord theater in Nashville for a performance @ Christmas 2007. When we returned to the truck that afternoon my 2006 wouldn't start. Can't remember now whether the engine turned over but wouldn't run or if the starter wouldn't turn the engine over. Anyway, I sat there baffled for several minutes then decided to try clearing the computers. Removed the battery leads, waited 10 minutes, reinstalled, and it fired and ran normal. It never did that before or after that incident.

That's what fixed it. The "Door" was just that one of the back doors was open a bit, but i never was able to get a code or anything. I'm not sure if the door ajar would have had anything to do with the problem or not.

keyless entry system will not work if door adjar ,If you have the type that sounds the horn with a beep ,no beep lets you know its not locked. Check door and indicator light. Also some times you may have to rock back and fourth the stering wheel to start the motor. And if you have no start switch don't forget it . Ron Bissett

For additional information:

I have a 6. 7 liter 2008 truck. I just tried the keyless entry with a door ajar and it worked. It must depend on exactly when your truck was made.



Mine has the keyless entry stuff on the key itself, not on a separate fob.
