So I Took some time and cleaned the data plate really well and the engine year is a 99 instead of 2002 like it was supposed to be also a 53 block so I'm not real impressed can't trust anybody .

What is the ESN? Got the wife's laptop running for a few minutes so I can check Cummins if you want.

I'm wondering if that is the emissions year level rather than manufacture date. The ESN will tell me that.

This is the same number I mentioned to look for in one of the other threads you started on this matter. It is on the gear case cover in front of the injection pump.

Don't take offense to this, but your really over stressing this issue. There are thousands of 53 blocks out on the road today. The problem was not found in all blocks and there are far more good 53 blocks out there than bad ones. As I mentioned in one of your other threads, I know of a guy that delivers boats with an 01 with 1.2 million miles on his 53 block. There are other more failure prone areas on your truck that are much more likely to give you grief than the block.

Yes I remember you mentioning the number but I still haven't found it yet . More than anything I just want to know if its a 2002 motor like we were told or not coming from the source I don't have high hopes though also wasn't the 53 last year 2001?
