Amazing! In the 60s, we used to go to San Antonio drag raceway to see famous drivers like Don Garlits. It was great fun to have your innards vibrate and holding fingers in ears to keep from going deaf as these monsters roared down the dragstrip.

Though I STILL cant tell if the way these things are designed is incredibly ingenious or just incredibly stupid (JK/LOL), I just realized that I should have titled the thread "Engineering challenges..." instead of "Engineering failures ..."

If I did the math right, 10k BHP is 6565 lb-ft at 8000 rpm, and those wings probably make thousands of pounds of downforce at speed, so something gotta give. I remember some guys in college experimented with high-speed photography and determined that by the time the average human detected it was moving it was already doing 50 or 60 mph.
