Trucks! Powerwagon.

hey other side of the pic. . iff you have a bigger turbo ie hx40 or so you can't mount a turbo mounted exhaust brake. . only under truck style. . and if you have larger exhaust down pipe 4" same deal. . bd makes a 4" exhaust brake thta mounts under truck. . about the best option for realy bombed trucks. . the flow area in the turbo mount brake is pretty restrictive even when thta are open less then 3 "... i think bd makes the best ebrakes ... under truck or turbo mount. .

The story is the same --- Its a poor salesman with a poor product that has to resort to talking down his competitors in an effort to make a sale. I'm not selling anything, but did purchase a Jacobs. A friend has the one mounted under the truck, and it sounds like some hit the ehxaust pipe with a 16 lb. hammer every time he turns it on.

Hey Mr. Sales man, here is a good pitch.
USGear exhaust brake will prevent you from falling asleep behind the wheel! Jacobs and BD are unsafe

Dam! And here I thought I was giving you guys something new to talk about.

After reading that article I've decided to move my e-brake closer to the turbo. The end of the down-pipe is too far away. I sure hate to cut up that down-pipe though.

Doc, that is ancient news... TLippy reported this to the membership over a year ago.

..... and being that the Jacobs/Cummins E-brake is the most restrictive to flow (when the valve is open), that's a pretty good testament to the solid engineering that went into all turbo mounted brake designs

I've been running a Jacobs for several years. I like it fine. More restrictive and more heat? Not! If there is more restriction and more heat it's so small as to be immeasurable -- and I've run with DDIIIs and a box making 400+hp towing trailers at near 75+mph for extended periods of time on 100+ degree hot days. If the turbo mounted ebrake was going to cause too much heat and back pressure I guarantee I would know it.

This so-called "engineer" claims (or strongly insinuates) the brake caused so much heat it made the housing glow red hot! He's a liar. I wouldn't want to buy anything from a company that knowingly endorses lies like that so thanks for the information. Now I know never to buy anything from USGear.

Any "engineer" who has to put HELLO-O-O in an article must be some kind of a fool to start with. Other than the fact that there are no numbers to back up any of his claims, and no references to any type of testing or data, it's a great article. I would follow this guys advise immediately. LMAO
