Haven't been on in a while, but we are on our summer long boat cruise and really enjoying life. Currently lying in Merrickville, Ontario which is a very pretty small town n the Rideau Canal system. Picked a nice small pub earlier today for lunch and a few beers, Did our grocery shopping, made the short walk to the LCBO (Canadian for liquor store) , "borrowing' some free wifi, life is good aboard the Attitude Adjustment eh?

The old Ford-Lehman diesel is running well, things are good. Today we logged about 6 miles that took 1. 6 engine hours and a total of about 4 hours. Most of the time is in locks waiting to lock up. we did 6 locks today and waited for one bridge to swing.

Ok time to "re-beer', hello to all on TDR.

Mr. Leonard, Could you please link us to, or recap your itinerary? That sounds like a fantastic journey!

You'll have to look at the pics on facebook, see info above.

We started out in the CT River, cruised down LI Sound, thru New York via the East and Harlem Rivers, up the Hudson to Troy. Then north on the Champlain canal, thru Lake Champlain, crossed into Canada there and travelled the Richelieu River, and the Chambly canal to the St Lawrence River in Sorel. Then we went up the St Lawrence to Montreal, then up the Ottawa River into the Rideau Canal. Cruised the Rideau to Kingston, Ontario, then crossed back into the US at Clayton, Ny. Now we are in the Oswego Canal in the small town of Pheonix. Will head back to Ct via the Erie for about labor day, then we'll get the boat hauled out for the iwnter.

We have just over 1000 miles right now, should end with about 1400 total.

You're making me sign up for Facebook to see the photos. Lol. My Son loves geography and were charting your voyage on google maps. Fantastic.

Currently in Herkimer, NY tied to what they call a terminal wall next to the dam and rt 90. LOTS of traffic noise however convenient shopping, resturants (Denny's) and free wifi courtesy of the Waterfront Grille 40 feet away.
Next stop is Little Falls, the highest single lift on the canal at 42 feet and the only "guillotine" lock door that lifts up over your head as you go thru it.

Geez Jay, you scooted right by me again! I haven't been on in 2 weeks or I would have seen you were in the area and tried to get ahold of you. :-laf Maybe next year! lol

Pete, we may cruise in the Erie all next summer, at least that is one possibility. Then you'll have no excuse. LOL

For anyone interested, here are some final stats about our summer long cruise.
86 days on board, we travelled 1534 statute miles, recorded 237 engine hours and burned 480 gallons of diesel. 17 of those 86 days we did not run at all.
We only ran the generator 11. 5 hours which means our battery banks and charging systems held up pretty good.
The boat is now out of the water in Portland, Ct (Ct River) and will be wrapped and put to bed within the next month.

I sent one as well, hope that I picked the correct "Debby"... ... :D

Looking forward to the pictures.

Mike.
