ok so after a few searches and some reading i found that the top piece of the dash is now available aftermarket. i need the top piece but i also need the rest of the dash. does anyone know where i can get a new one of those or at least one thats in good shape. color doesnt matter since i intend on painting it all anyways. the problem with mine is the top is in about 4 pieces and the other part is cracked and broken in several places and needs to be replaced too.

I just bought the replacement from Geno's Garage. Getting ready to install. My dash has disintegrated into at least a 100+ pieces. My cousin says that I now have larger cup holders than came with the truck when it was new. Only thing is he means the large 7-11 Thickly insulated 64oz double gulp etc...
Good Luck.

Just when thru this when my heater core started leaking on the 01. Replaced heater core and dash. I went with Mopar. I originally ordered one from Geno's but it was gonna take a couple weeks. I had one from my local dealership in 2 days. Plus the one from the dealer was painted. That alone will save you a day or two in painting time. Worth the extra $$ to me. I would NOT recommend the cover Geno's sells after seeing how brittle the old dash was. I think that will bit you in the butt later on.

The one from your dealership is the same as what was already in your truck. It will be just as brittle. From past reading the one Genos sells is made by a different company that put the correct additives in the plastic to prevent the UV light from breaking it down. The Genos is also a bit better reinforced from the OEM ones. I wouldnt mind painting it for a better product.

I agree. The OEM are junk, otherwise we would not be replacing them. I have the Geno's but haven't installed it yet but I did do quite a bit of research on the OEM before deciding on the Geno's.

I bought the Geno's cap dash cover for my '02. My dash was not in terrible shape. I applied more RTV adhessive than provided so there is a lot of contact spread out. My wife helped to install it for great alignment and fit. No creaks, squeeks or rattles. Can't tell it is a cap.

Maybe not for everyone, but certainly worked well for me, saved hours and $$. I am well pleased with results.
