Gun show anouncement

Chevy Bruin

in California with rolling black-outs. Just think of all the natural resources saved by doing this. Heard some statements from some people in Silicon Valley and you would think it was the Armageddon. They were in total panic. Just too bad some of our fellow members have to be involved. #ad

Ramboy,You could be right, but the power surge that occurs when the juice comes back on uses a lot of power and can fry sensitive electronics. So it may use more natural resources in the long run to replace all the blown computers, vcrs,TVs,etc. But that's good for the economy right?
CA should be a good example to any state that has to import power, better not let it happen.
My daughter moved into a new place in WA state and the power co. sent a letter, said it was required by law, that said where her power came from and how it was generated in %.
I'm happy to say that it said her power was 100%hydro power, 100%generated in the same county.

Yea sillycone valley thinks its the end of the world it cost $$$$$$$$ (too many $ #ad
)for every minute that one of the high tech companies is shut down- I did a construction remodel at applied materials in san jose- if we triped the life safety system it would cost $1. 4 million per hour in lost production and a minimum of 2+ hours 'till they were back to full production- and that was at 1 of 5 campuses in the san jose metro area--- can your boss afford to **** off that kinda $$$$$$- hell mine can give me a decent company truck - he gives me a hoopty #ad
while he drives a new dodge *$*&%$*$

Some of those companies may be getting tired of it. I spoke with a guy yesterday that said the little town of Lockhart, Tx is scrambling to build a large Industrial Park. Seems they have had about six inquiries from Silicon Valley companies into moving there.

Max,

It is an environmental issue to the extent that the environmental whackos have thrown so many roadblocks in front of the power generators that no new generating plants have been built in Kommiefornia in the past 10 years. Hence, demand has outstripped local supply.

Rolling blackouts are not for saving resources. They are usually used if the power company cannot meet demand. So what info am I missing that says this is an environmental issue?

Radixr, understood. But this then begs the question... . how many of the companies that got hit by the blackouts are contributors to environmental groups?

Too bad for them!

It's too bad the good people have to suffer because of the philosophy and policy of the elitist environmentalist. I've said it before and will say it again - they eventually want everyone "except them" to be wiping their arses with leaves.

I like their rules for the rolling blackout. They can't announce the targetted areas before time because of fear of looting and other criminal behavior. That can be corrected quite easily by removing some of their restrictions on gun ownership and permit concealed carry.

No shortage of power here. But the bill was high.
The town where I'm from produces its own electric from Nordberg engines. It is city owned. No rich execs running it. Just the utilities people and a manager.
About 10 years ago they built a another station with a gas turbine generator. They added a steam generator that gets its heat from the turbines exhaust.
