01-2500. Have problem with very erractic operation,rpm's will fluctuate, missing,smoking, unplugged edgeez, helped for appox 200mi. and same problem is back. Changed fuel filter, no help, please help.

How's the fuel pressure? Any codes for the fuel injection pump?

do not have code reader, but soon. Fuel pressure is 16psi at pump could this cause a problem? Also I have very low boost pressure, got truck home, so emer. is over. Went thru procedure for resetting APPS, the truck did start but very, low boost, will check tomorrow. I did not mention but the . 22 cal trick has been done on this truck, I will remove. Could manifold pressure sensor cause low boost? Thanks for replying.

What is the . 22 cal trick?

puts a . 22cal. shellcasing into block wastegate operation, there by raising boost to higher pressures. What is strange as we learn more about turbos, 23psi will support 400hp. I suspect overboost, is causing my problem. Possibly ruptured intercooler. I have ordered an Auterra p/c based scan system that should help in diagnistics. God bless our country and our troops.

22 shell does the same thing as using a turnbuckle on waste gate.
