I need some ideas on what may have happened to my fuel gauge. It just started today, when I accelerate or go up a hill my fuel gauge swings to near full, when I step on the brakes or go down hill it swings to about 1/8 tank. This is with about 100 miles on a full tank of fuel. It is consistent and does it each time. Does this sound like a baffle in the tank has broken loose or is the fuel sender encased in a plastic can as some cars are? I want to get the parts here before I tear it down as I need it daily for transportation. I personally have not had one of these senders out so I don't know how it is set up. The gauge seems fine as it will read from empty to full but like I said if the truck is tipped to the rear it swings to 1/8 tank and if the truck is tipped to the front it swings to full quickly. It has always been steady as a rock. If anyone has pictures of this unit or tank please send them. Thanks for any help in advance.
